Puzzl Cups

We were looking for a playful, elegant solution to organise and declutter our everyday spaces. When we couldn’t find the perfect product, we decided to design our own. We’ve developed a set of clever shapes that nest together to create a range of interlocking cups for whatever you need. Magnets are hidden in the bottom of the cups to keep them organised. From the variety of shapes and colours you can make your own custom collection.

More about the project…

We designed Puzzl Cups to solve our own problem, scratching our own itch so to say. When we couldn’t find a playful, elegant solution to organize and declutter our everyday spaces…  you know, like your desk, the kitchen, the bathroom... …we decided to design our own. We’ve developed a set of clever shapes that nest together to create a range of interlocking cups for whatever you need. Magnets are hidden in the bottom of the cups to keep them organized. From the variety of shapes and colours you can make your own custom collection.

We looked for fresh color combinations that grab your attention, but don’t occupy it. We found inspiration with Lidewij Edelkoort and her praise for the colors in the design of the global south. These are bold colors tempered by the natural materials that hold them. We believe this is a great starting point for a circular product. And all of these fantastic colors come from  recycled PLA, a material that is bio-based and renewable. So rPLA a more sustainable alternative to oil-based plastics. We understand that there are various—perhaps more typical—ways that Puzzl cups could be produced but we believe that 3d printing opens the possibilities of scalability and product customization that aren’t possible with typical production processes.

When it’s sitting on the shelf in the store or when you get the delivery at home, the shape of the box is as recognizable as the product inside. The box opens at the back, sliding out a tray that secured the cup for transport. Each box has a window on the side and a color- and shape-coded sticker on top to make sure you got the right one. We want to make logistics as simple as possible so there are only 2 box sizes to go with all the different Puzzl cup shapes.
